Paul-Mihai Moldovan founded ateliercetrei in 2004 together with Florin-Vasile Lazar and Mihai Rosca. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in Cluj-Napoca in 2007 having also studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Grenoble. He holds a PhD in architecture from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and teaches 2nd year design studio and interior architecture at the FAUP in Cluj-Napoca.

Anamaria Moldovan joined ateliercetrei in 2010 as managing partner. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in Cluj-Napoca in 2007 having also studied at the Sint-Lucas School of Architecture in Brussels. Following the master's programme of Babes Bolyai University, Faculty of History and Philosophy, in collaboration with Transilvania Trust Foundation she specialized in the restoration and rehabilitation of historical buildings.
